1. INTRODUCTION

Comics Craver ("Comics Craver," "we," "us," or "our") provides a reader interface and related online features for accessing comics-related information and sources (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data when you visit or use the Service.

Comics Craver is operated by a private individual in India who is under the age of majority. To protect the operator's privacy and safety, this Policy does not publish the operator's name, address, school, phone number, personal email address, age, or other identifying information. The Service's designated privacy contact is listed below.

The public website is hosted or delivered through Vercel. Cloudflare provides DNS for the Service's domain. The Service's backend or API is operated on a Hack Club VPS. Authentication is provided by a Flask application and a local SQLite database on that backend. The Service may use source-connector extensions adapted for Comics Craver from community-developed, open-source projects originally made for Tachiyomi- or Mihon-compatible readers. Those projects, sources, and extensions are not necessarily owned, operated, endorsed, or controlled by Comics Craver, and use of their names does not imply affiliation. Other providers may be used only where separately disclosed in the Service, this Policy, or a provider-specific notice.

2. INFORMATION WE MAY COLLECT

The exact information collected depends on which features you use. We aim to collect only information reasonably needed to operate, secure, improve, and support the Service.

If the Service offers accounts, contact forms, feedback, support, or similar features, we may collect the information you choose to submit, such as a username, email address, password or authentication token (handled through an authentication provider or secure process where applicable), messages, and account preferences. Please do not submit sensitive personal data, government identifiers, financial information, medical information, or information about other people unless we expressly request it for a lawful and necessary purpose.

We may collect information about your interactions with the Service, such as pages or series viewed, searches submitted, features used, error reports, and approximate time and date of use. Where the Service uses search or indexing features, a search or view may be recorded or used to maintain search/index data. We seek to avoid storing unnecessary identifiers with that information.

When you select a chapter through a source-connector extension, our backend may request the relevant third-party source page to obtain image URLs needed by your device. The image files are then requested directly by your device from the third-party image host; Comics Craver does not intentionally proxy, cache, store, or re-host those image files. The backend does not retain chapter HTML, image URLs, or chapter metadata after completing this request.

Our hosting providers, backend infrastructure, and security systems may automatically receive or generate technical data, including IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, requested URLs, timestamps, response status, and diagnostic or security logs. IP addresses can be personal data in some circumstances and are treated accordingly.

We may use cookies, local storage, session storage, or similar technologies for essential functions such as keeping a session active, remembering preferences, preventing abuse, and maintaining security. We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate website usage. Vercel describes its standard Web Analytics product as cookie-free and based on aggregated data; it may process data such as page URLs, referrer, coarse location, browser, operating system, device type, and a short-lived visitor hash. We do not intentionally send email addresses, account identifiers, passwords, or other direct personal data in analytics events. If we add other analytics, advertising, or similar non-essential technologies, we will provide any notice and choice required by applicable law.

3. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We do not sell personal data in exchange for money. We do not knowingly use personal data for targeted advertising unless we clearly disclose that practice and obtain any consent required by law.

4. HOSTING, INFRASTRUCTURE, AND THIRD PARTIES

The frontend is deployed through Vercel, Cloudflare provides domain-name-system (DNS) services, and the backend/API is operated on a Hack Club VPS. These infrastructure providers may process technical information necessary to deliver and secure the Service, such as DNS query data, connection data, and server logs, under their own terms and privacy practices. Account and authentication information is stored in the Service's local SQLite database on the backend.

We use Vercel Web Analytics as described above. We will not represent that another particular provider is used unless it is actually enabled. If we add a provider that materially changes how personal data is handled, we will update this Policy and, where required, give notice or obtain consent.

Third-party websites, comic/manhwa sources, original open-source projects, embeds, and links are not controlled by Comics Craver. When you select a chapter, the Service's backend may connect to the third-party source to obtain image URLs, and your device then connects directly to the third-party image host to request the images. The source may receive backend/server details and the requested chapter; the image host may receive your IP address, browser or device details, requested image URLs, and information sent by your browser. Their privacy practices and content are governed by their own policies. Please review the relevant source's policies and terms before using it or providing it information.

5. WHEN WE SHARE INFORMATION

We may disclose personal data only as reasonably necessary:

We do not share personal data with third parties for their independent marketing purposes unless we clearly tell you and obtain any required consent.

6. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the Service, complying with law, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, and maintaining security.

Account information is retained while an account remains active. Support messages may be retained long enough to resolve the request and maintain a record of the interaction. Security and server logs are normally retained for a limited period, though they may be kept longer when needed to investigate incidents, prevent abuse, or comply with law. Aggregated or de-identified information may be retained longer where it no longer reasonably identifies you. Vercel Web Analytics is aggregate and is not designed to identify a visitor by their account email address.

You may ask us to delete your account information and other personal data we control by emailing contact@comicscraver.app. After we reasonably verify the request, we will delete the personal data associated with your account from our active application systems and direct support records. We cannot identify or selectively remove a person's data from aggregate Vercel Web Analytics using an email address, and infrastructure providers may retain limited operational or backup data under their own retention practices. We may also retain limited information where required or permitted for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, or legitimate recordkeeping.

7. SECURITY

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. These measures may include access controls, HTTPS where available, limited access to systems, and security monitoring. No online service, transmission, or storage system is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a unique password where the Service offers accounts and keep your account credentials confidential.

8. CHILDREN AND MINORS

Account registration and other features that require submitting personal information are intended only for users who are at least 18 years old. If you are under 18, do not create an account or submit personal information to Comics Craver.

We do not knowingly permit accounts for, or knowingly collect account information from, children under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to a person under 18, we will take reasonable steps to delete the account and associated personal data under our control. A parent or guardian who believes that a child has provided information to us may contact contact@comicscraver.app.

This policy does not limit protections required by applicable law for children or persons with disabilities, including any requirement for verifiable parental or lawful guardian consent that may apply.

9. YOUR PRIVACY CHOICES AND RIGHTS

Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, completion of, updating of, or deletion of personal data; withdraw consent when processing is based on consent; ask questions about how data is handled; or raise a grievance. To make a request, email contact@comicscraver.app from the address associated with your request where possible and describe what you need. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and protect other users' data.

For users in India, these rights are intended to be read consistently with applicable Indian privacy law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, as and when applicable, and any rules or regulations brought into force under it. Nothing in this Policy limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING

Your information may be processed in India and in other locations where Vercel, Hack Club VPS infrastructure, or an enabled service provider operates. The laws of those locations may differ from the laws where you live. We will use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the circumstances and applicable law when arranging such processing.

11. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Policy as the Service evolves or as legal requirements change. We will post the revised version here and update the effective date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice where reasonably practical or legally required. Your continued use after the effective date is subject to the revised Policy, to the extent permitted by law.
